M&E Managing Quantity Surveyor

You'll lead the QS function, manage the output of the commercial team and hold full responsibility for cost management across a portfolio of M&E contracts.\n\nAbout the Business\n\nFounded in the 1950s and still family-run, this is a business that has grown steadily and carefully across seven decades. This is a business that retains people for the long term, maintains serious client relationships and has the pipeline to keep things interesting.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\n\n * \n\n Leading the commercial function from the Warrington office, managing and mentoring a team of QS professionals\n\n * \n\n Taking overall responsibility for cost management across a portfolio of M&E design, installation and maintenance contracts\n\n * \n\n Overseeing the preparation and submission of applications for payment, valuations and final accounts\n\n * \n\n Managing subcontract procurement, letting, and commercial administration from award through to close-out\n\n * \n\n Preparing and presenting CVRs and cost-to-completion forecasts to senior management\n\n * \n\n Driving robust variation and change control processes across the team\n\n * \n\n Supporting pre-construction and bid activity with commercial input at tender stage\n\n * \n\n Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners\n\n * \n\n Contributing to the strategic development of the commercial function as the business continues to grow\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\n * \n\n Solid M&E contracting background with experience across both project and maintenance/FM contracts\n\n * \n\n Previous experience managing or mentoring a commercial team, or a clear track record that demonstrates readiness to do so\n\n * \n\n Confident handling the full commercial cycle independently, from pre-award through to final account\n\n * \n\n Sound knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contract forms\n\n * \n\n Strong on variation management, cost reporting, subcontract administration and CVR preparation\n\n * \n\n A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline\n\n * \n\n Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at senior level\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\n * \n\n £70,000 - £80,000 depending on experience\n\n * \n\n Full company benefits package\n\n * \n\n A senior role with real scope and commercial ownership\n\n * \n\n A varied portfolio spanning complex, technically demanding sectors\n\n * \n\n A stable, family-run business with a genuine long-term outlook and strong North West pipeline
