Fire Safety Surveyor\n\nSalary: £42,839 + £5,000 market supplement\n Contract: Full-time, Permanent (37 hours)\n Location: Devon, Hybrid working and flexible hours available\n\nHours: Full-time, 37 hours per week\n\nRole Overview\n\nThis role is focused on ensuring housing stock is safe, compliant and well managed, with particular responsibility for fire and building safety.\n\nYou will act as the subject matter expert for fire safety across the housing portfolio, overseeing fire risk assessments, fire door compliance and associated remedial works. The role combines technical surveying, contractor management and compliance oversight, ensuring all works meet legal and health and safety requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOversee fire safety compliance across the housing stock, ensuring all legal and regulatory standards are met\nManage the Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) programme, including reviewing reports and ensuring remedial actions are completed\nOversee fire door inspection contracts and manage any repairs or replacements required\nProcure and manage contractors delivering fire safety works\nPrepare specifications, tender documents and oversee procurement processes\nMonitor contractor performance and ensure safe working practices\nCarry out site inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety and building safety standards\nSupport compliance with Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS), with a focus on fire risk\nEnsure compliance with relevant legislation, including fire safety regulations, CDM and wider health and safety requirements\nMaintain accurate compliance records and systems\nProduce reports on fire safety compliance and performance for senior management\nLiaise with residents, contractors and stakeholders regarding fire safety works \n\nKey Requirements\n\nRelevant qualification in a building, surveying or fire safety discipline (or equivalent experience)\nStrong understanding of fire safety legislation and building safety requirements\nKnowledge of HHSRS, particularly in relation to fire risk\nAwareness of health and safety legislation and CDM regulations\nFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicle\nRight to work in the UKExperience\n\nExperience managing fire safety within social housing or a similar property environment\nExperience overseeing Fire Risk Assessments and associated remedial programmes \n\nFor more information, please contact Branwen Johns on (phone number removed) or email your CV
